CII firmly believes that pharmaceuticals truly lends itself to be a thrust sector under the Government’s Make in India programme. The pharmaceutical industry in India occupies a place of pride in not just the Indian, but across the global. The impact transcends the value chain with Indian pharmaceutical companies leading in API’s, formulations, and differentiated products.
The Pharmaceutical sector comprises a very important segment of CII’s membership in which we see a great promise.
Terms of Reference of CII National Committee on Pharmaceuticals 2019-20 are enlisted below:
Advise CII National Council on all the matters related to pharmaceuticals
Lead CII’s regional, national and international engagements, including mounting learning missions in the areas of pharmaceuticals.
Conduct policy research, submit policy recommendations, and partner with government for implementing conducive policy and incentives for strengthening pharmaceutical sector.
Provide thought-leadership in bringing out high-quality reports, and media articles for building / aligning opinions for the benefit pharmaceutical sector.
Conceptualize and professionally implement projects for prove successful models in the areas of pharmaceuticals.
Develop and deliver value-added services / capacity building modules for improving quality management, innovation and competitiveness of pharmaceutical sector.
Undertaking specialized reports on pharmaceutical areas for delineating an actionable agenda for the country.
Organize flagship events to facilitate national and international partnerships including sharing of best practices.
To promote the capability, contribution and impact of the Indian pharmaceutical industry globally.
Members of CII National Committee on Pharmaceuticals nominate themselves to be the part of sub-groups, which work to undertake advocacy of the role of Pharmaceuticals to develop position papers, to explore, recommend and facilitate pharmaceutical policy initiatives, and to undertake specific objectives for the conducive growth of the pharmaceutical sector.
